Keno Playing Tips

In Keno there are a couple of options that you have. The first option is the type of ticket. You can choose a ticket for single play or a multiple ticket. If you choose the multiple ticket you don't have to play all the games on there, but the number of games you would like. You can also choose a deal 10 numbers option. This is when you ask the computer to randomly select ten numbers rather than choosing for yourself. Some say this is the way to play, as the computer may spit out a better winning set than you could ever pick. The fact is Keno is all random from the choosing of the numbers to the drawing of any ten of 80 numbers.

Keno allows you to choose 1, 5, or 10 numbers to play. If you are new at the game you might not understand the rules completely so ask a Keno casino host for more information or read up on Keno before you play. The chance of getting a winning number is the same for every number. That is because the machine draws one ball at a time. So on the first ball you have 1 in 80 that will be picked, next it is 1 in 79 and on down until you have all ten balls drawn. The same number cannot be drawn twice so that narrows the field a little.

Some individuals also state that if you play a sequence of numbers you have a better chance of winning than playing a random assortment of numbers. In other words if you play 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 you have more of a chance of winning. This is of course not based on fact. It seems more likely that you would have less of a chance in winning, especially if you look at the boards for the last numbers drawn.

Most of the time, you see five or ten unrelated numbers, but sometimes you might see to numbers in the same group of ten. For example: say the numbers drawn were 3, 26, 50, 77, 45, 41, 32, 80, 14, and 20. You have two sets of numbers that came from the same ten group the 45 and 41, then the 20 and 26. Had you played the numbers 20 through 30 you would only have gotten two out of ten numbers.

You also need to study the payouts to determine how much you want to bet in each round. You can bet as little as a dollar or as much as five dollars. It depends on whether you are feeling lucky or not.
