It would be wiser if you bet on black and even because you have more even numbers in black, and the converse is true of the red and odd.
When you first begin to play roulette most individuals tell you to bet red and black. This is a cover bet in which you would be even on the wager you place. For example if you bet 10 on red and 10 on black you are wagering on all 36 numbers, so one of the bets will win. This means you come away without losing or gaining any more. While it helps you to learn the rules, it isn't going to get you anywhere. That is why you are better to choose the black and even or red and odd bets. You are covered for some of the same numbers, meaning you could end up getting double you bet or making even. For example if you bet on red and odd, and both won you would get even money for each bet.
