Poker Ride is a prpgressive variation of video poker that, some say, bears a resemblance to another casino game, Let It Ride. It is produced by Microgaming, one of the leaders in the online casino software industry. It carries with it a progressive jackpot that greatly adds to the excitement of play.
The objective in this game is to compile the best five-card hand possible. In that way it is exactly like many other versions of poker. Also like conventional table poker, you wil make an initial "ante," along with bets after the first and second "rounds" of play. There is also a bet of fixed value that is optional and can be placed before each hand you play, which qualifies you for the progressive jackpot. Full Review - Poker Ride (9.00)
Progressive Cyberstud Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, with no wild cards. The cards are shuffled before each game, to affect a random nature of the deal.
You will have prompts that ask you to Call or Raise. There is the optional "side bet" of one credit before each round of play starts, as well as an ante bet of one unit (the amount of which is determined by your coin size). When you click "Deal," you are dealt three cards face-up, while the dealer receives only two cards, face-down. After you receive your cards you can make the decision to either Call or Raise. Raising will require an additional wager to be placed, while calling will not.
Then, like a "flop" in Hold'em, another card - your fourth, which also happens to be one of the dealer's cards - is turned over, and the process of raising or calling happens again. At the time the fifth card (the remaining face-down card in front of the dealer) is dealt, the game is over and the result is instantly known.
It comes down to whether you have compiled a winning hand or not - it's that simple. Expertise and strategy come into play where you evaluate the strength of your hand, and make the decision between calling and raising accordingly.
The one-unit side bet that is made before each hand goes toward the pool which from which the progressive jackpot is eventually paid out. Get a Royal Flush and you'll win the jackpot. Get a Straight Flush and you wil be paid 10% of it.
