Double Exposure Microgaming Blackjack

Of all the online casino games it is blackjack has the most variants. Many of the variants have been arrived at by toggling the land casino rules and the basic strategy remains the same. However once in a while online gaming software developers introduce a twist into the game that calls for some rethinking. Double Exposure from Microgaming is one such variant of blackjack. No blackjack player will ever hit if his hand value is 19, but in Double Exposure he may be compelled to do so.

In Double Exposure both the dealer's cards are dealt face up. This means that the player sees both the dealer's cards before he has to decide whether to hit or stand or make any other allowed move. If the player's hand value is 19 and the dealer's hand value is 20 then the player has to hit looking for the elusive deuce. In such a situation the chances are that he will bust and lose if he hits but he has already lost the game if he stands. Exposing both the dealer's cards loads the game heavily in the player's favor. The player knows that if the dealer's hand value is 17 or more (except in the case of a soft 17) the dealer cannot draw another card and the player's target is absolutely clear. Even if the dealer can draw another card the chances that he will draw a high value are much higher on account of there being many more high value cards in the pack. Hence the decision for the player is simpler.

But Double Exposure is not the steal that it should be. There is no such thing as a free lunch and the player has to pay the price of being able to see both the cards. The other rules of blackjack are adjusted so as to level the field. Blackjack pays at 1 to 1 in Double Exposure instead of at 3 to 2 as in normal games. And the dealer wins all ties except blackjack in Double Exposure. In normal blackjack ties are a push, which means that the player gets his wager back. This evens the advantage and makes the game a challenge worth taking.

Double Exposure Blackjack is in the Microgaming Gold Series Casino Games. Hence it comes with extra options and features that raise the quality of gaming sky high. The main features are Auto Play and Strategy that are grouped in the Expert Mode. Auto Play allows the computer to play a set number of deals at a set rate. The player can provide for some conditions when the Auto Play stops before schedule. The player also has the option to use the default strategy card for making his moves or he can customize the strategy card according to his requirements.

Double Exposure can be played at all Microgaming online casinos. Casino Advisor recommends Platinum Play, Jackpot City and River Belle.
