In 2005 Microgaming upgraded its blackjack and roulette games with the new "Gold Series". Since then new games are being continuously added to the series. The Gold Series games marked a departure from the standard blackjack and roulette games in many ways, the more important of which are being outlined below.

The Gold Series games offer the player a more realistic and enjoyable casino experience through improved graphics. One of the features that enable this is a customizable player view. This is very useful in the Roulette Gold games. The view provides an inset that shows the close up of the ball as it lands into a pocket. Players who want to see the full wheel can use the "Edit Layout" option to see the overhead view of the table. Certain features have been enlarged and repositioned for the convenience of the players. These include the chip tray and the control buttons like Call Bets, AutoPlay, Redo and Undo. The sharp and true color graphics enhance the elegance of the burr walnut tables in both games and the polished brass wheel in Roulette Gold. The game play is made more interesting through the appearance of articulate icons, card flips and chip movements. Realism is introduced not only through visuals but through sound effects as well.

The Gold Series games are functionally superior to the standard ones. One of the interesting features is the interactive chip management system. The chip range varies from $1 to $200. The chips are automatically resized to make the bet with the minimum number of chips. There is additional information available to help players to make choices. For example in Roulette Gold players can access charts that display the result of past spins and also what proportion of the layout is being covered by the existing bet. By far the best feature in the Gold Series is the Expert Mode. Each blackjack game comes equipped with a strategy card that shows the optimum move available to the player in all possible circumstances. The Gold Series games also come with an Auto Play feature. This allows players to continuously repeat the games at high speeds without manual intervention a set number of times subject to certain conditions that can be entered. These include stopping when jackpot is won, stopping if a win exceeds X, stopping on any win and stopping if credits increase or decrease by X. In the Blackjack Gold Series the Auto Play can be used with the given strategy card or a customized one.

Another feature of the Gold Series is the variety on offer. Both the roulette and the blackjack games have the classic land casino games that were also there in the standard version. But they have games with interesting variations like side bets and progressive jackpots.

Advantages of the Microgaming Gold Series Games

  • Customizable player view
  • Enlarged and conveniently repositioned control buttons
  • Sharp true color graphics
  • Animation and sound special effects
  • Interactive chip management system
  • Expert Mode and Auto Play
  • Innovative game variety
