iGaming Ontario has launched BetGuard, a centralized self-exclusion portal that lets Ontario residents opt out of the entire regulated iGaming market through a single website rather than contacting each operator individually.

Once enrolled at BetGuard.ca, a player is excluded from every iGaming Ontario operator - 75+ sites, including all Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) platforms. Account access is blocked, new account creation is blocked, and the player stops receiving marketing communications. Eligible Ontarians must be 19 or older.

Players choose their exclusion term: 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or a custom duration. Joseph Hillier, iGaming Ontario's President and CEO, framed the launch as a structural piece of the regulated-market case: "if you need to take a break from the entire regulated iGaming market, you can."

The tool joins similar cross-operator registers in other regulated markets - GAMSTOP in the UK, ROFUS in Denmark, CRUKS in the Netherlands, RUA in Italy. Ontario's BetGuard sits inside a broader $421M responsible-gaming investment the province has made since 2018.
