Fanatics Sportsbook has become an Official Sports Betting Partner of the National Football League under a newly announced multi-year agreement, positioning itself as the first major operator to secure an official sponsorship slot following the expiration of the league's previous partnerships in March 2026.
Under the non-exclusive arrangement, Fanatics gains access to premium NFL media inventory including in-game advertising and network sponsorships, along with VIP hospitality assets, Super Bowl access, and marquee event experiences. The operator also obtains marketing rights to leverage official NFL intellectual property, including league and team logos, as well as branding for marquee events such as the Super Bowl and NFL Draft. This expansion builds on Fanatics' existing e-commerce and merchandise partnerships with the league.
Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement, which is expected to be formalized before the September 9 season opener featuring a Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle.
The timing of Fanatics' agreement is significant given the broader sponsorship landscape. When FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars' original partnerships concluded at the end of March without renewal, it created a notable void in the league's official betting partner portfolio. Negotiations with FanDuel and DraftKings remain ongoing, but Fanatics has moved first to establish a formal agreement.
Geographically, Fanatics Sportsbook currently operates across 22 states and Washington, D.C., while Fanatics Casino maintains licensed operations in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The NFL partnership may facilitate expansion into additional jurisdictions, though the announcement does not specify growth targets.
The deal arrives during a period of sustained momentum in NFL wagering. The American Gaming Association estimated that legal wagers on the 2025 NFL season reached approximately USD 30 billion, representing an 8.5 percent year-over-year increase from USD 27.6 billion in 2024. These figures encompass futures, preseason, regular season, and Super Bowl action but exclude untracked offshore and prediction market wagers, suggesting total activity substantially exceeds the measured figure.
NFL betting's resilience derives from multiple structural advantages: concentrated weekly schedules, brief regular seasons, and massive television audiences that maintain consistent engagement. These factors have made the league the premier sports betting vertical in North America for nearly a decade.
From a market consolidation perspective, this agreement underscores the NFL's willingness to diversify its betting partner base rather than concentrate on one or two operators. Fanatics' growing influence across e-commerce, merchandise, and now digital betting positions the company as an increasingly significant distribution channel for league content and intellectual property. Whether FanDuel and DraftKings ultimately renew at revised commercial terms remains a key market question heading into the season. The outcome will signal whether the league views official sponsorships as essential branding assets or optional marketing enhancements.
