City of Gold Review
City of Gold is a video slot from Vegas Technology. It is based on the popular theme of the wealthy ancient Aztec civilization. The reels are set in the background of an Aztec house. The wild symbol is the pyramid shaped Aztec Temple and the scatter symbol is the ornate Aztec Archway. The other symbols on the reels are the Gold Mask, Necklaces, Frog and Plant. Standard high value cards from Ace to Nine are the remaining symbols.
City of Gold does not have any background music in the main game. However there is vibrant background music during the free spins. The usual game sounds of the reels coming to rest and win sounds to denote winning combinations are provided. The win sounds are better when the wild or scatter symbols participate during payouts. Similarly only the wild and scatter symbols exhibit animations. Normally the Temple is portrayed in a day scene with the orange sky in the background. City of Gold is a 25 payline slot game. Players can activate the desired number of paylines using the Lines arrows below the reels. A quick way of enabling all 25 paylines is clicking on the Bet Max button. Players are constrained to wager only one coin per payline, but the coin size range is large and makes up for this. The coin size varies from 0.01 to 10.00 with 7 stops. The maximum bet per spin is therefore 250.00 which will attract high rollers.
The Temple is the wild symbol. It substitutes for all other symbols except the scatter Archway. Five Temple symbols appearing in an enabled payline offer the highest jackpot of 6000 coins. The Temple symbol however does not act as a multiplier. The Archway is the scatter symbol. Two or more Archway symbols appearing anywhere on the reels offer scatter payouts. Scatter payouts are multiplied by the total bet to convert to credits. Three or more Archway symbols appearing anywhere on the reels trigger the free spins bonus round. In this round 15 free spins are offered. All payouts are tripled in this round. If three or more Archway symbols appear during the free spins then this round is re-triggered.
An excellent Auto Play feature is available in City of Gold online slots. The player can set the game for up to 500 auto spins.
