The graphics come as a bit of a disappointment. The crafting of the symbols has nothing beyond the ordinary. There is animation in only two of the symbols. Whereas the animation in the wild symbol is interesting the animation in the scatter symbol is weak. The audio is better. The background tune in the free spins is vibrant and the game sounds are also pronounced.

The Aztec civilization theme is popular but it has not been executed well. The choice of symbols could be better. The high value card symbols have no thematic value, either in their content or in their crafting. Usually a bonus game on the second screen adds thematic value, but City of Gold has no such game.
