Jon Bon Jovi has partnered with the New Jersey Lottery to launch a branded scratch-off ticket game, with the musician pledging to donate his participation fees toward opening a third location of his JBJ Soul Kitchen community restaurant chain. The "Jersey Legend: Jon Bon Jovi" $5 scratch-off tickets officially entered circulation in early October 2026, offering players the chance to win cash prizes up to $200,000. The game represents a licensing agreement between the New Jersey Lottery and Bon Jovi Merchandise Inc., with Bon Jovi announcing his donation commitment during an October 6 lottery event.

JBJ Soul Kitchens operate on a pay-what-you-can model where patrons receive three-course meals prepared with locally-sourced ingredients. Those able to pay are encouraged to donate; those unable to afford a meal can dine free and are invited to volunteer in exchange. The foundation has operated two locations since 2011 - one in Red Bank and another in Toms River - which collectively have served more than 250,000 meals and engaged volunteers for over 180,000 hours of work. The planned third location would be situated in Monmouth County.

Initial sales performance has been brisk. One $200,000 jackpot was claimed at a Bravo Supermarket in Trenton within days of launch, with two additional top prizes remaining unclaimed. The New Jersey Lottery printed 4.3 million tickets across all prize tiers, with total prizes valued at $12.9 million. Of the printed tickets, 694,078 are winners at various levels, though approximately 394,951 simply return the $5 ticket cost. Another 287,155 tickets award free plays.

From a gaming industry perspective, this partnership illustrates the growing trend of celebrity-branded lottery products as revenue drivers for state lotteries while simultaneously leveraging those partnerships for philanthropic purposes. The collaboration reflects how lottery operators are diversifying product offerings beyond traditional games. For New Jersey specifically, the state lottery continues to develop new scratch-off variants to maintain player engagement and generate revenue for state programs.

The JBJ Soul Kitchen model represents a novel intersection between celebrity philanthropy and community service infrastructure. By tying lottery product launches to charitable outcomes, Bon Jovi has created a mechanism where lottery players indirectly contribute to hunger relief initiatives. The foundation's track record - over a decade of meal service and substantial volunteer engagement - demonstrates operational sustainability in the pay-what-you-can restaurant space, a model typically challenged by traditional commercial food service economics.
