Fanatics Sports & Casino announced on October 20, 2026, that it is expanding its player injury protection program to provide full-game coverage for customers betting on NFL and NBA player props. The expansion comes as the NBA begins its new season and the NFL enters Week 7 of its schedule.

The FAIR PLAY Max Pledge program applies automatically to eligible player prop wagers with no opt-in requirement, promotional token, or claim needed from customers. The protection works by voiding a bet leg if the wagered-upon player leaves injured and does not return to the game. On single bets, the customer's stake is returned immediately. On parlays, the remaining legs continue to play, with refunds issued before halftime on the spot or after halftime as FanCash once the game concludes. For parlays with multiple unsettled legs, FanCash is credited once every leg has been decided. FanCash functions as the company's rewards currency, which customers can redeem for merchandise, trading cards, game tickets, and additional sportsbook wagers.

Ted Moss, President of Sportsbook at Fanatics Betting and Gaming, characterized the expansion as an industry milestone: 'At Fanatics, everything we build starts with making the fan experience better. We were the first in the industry to launch player injury protection with FAIR PLAY, and now we're the first to cover the whole game at no charge to the customer.'

The company separately demonstrated its customer-focused approach on October 18 following the New York Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Giants running back Cam Skattebo, who had been a popular pregame prop bet target and the team's lead rusher, received zero touches due to recurring fumbling issues rather than injury. Although Skattebo was not physically injured, Fanatics announced it would compensate customers holding losing straight bets on the running back with FanCash, citing the unexpected benching.

The full-game player protection with FAIR PLAY will cover every NFL and NBA game throughout the entire season at no additional cost to bettors. This expansion reflects a broader trend in the competitive U.S. sportsbook market, where operators increasingly differentiate themselves through customer-friendly features and risk mitigation tools. Injury-related bet voids have become a point of friction in the player prop betting space, as unexpected player absences can dramatically affect bet outcomes. By automating protection across all games and leagues without requiring customers to opt in or meet promotional conditions, Fanatics aims to reduce customer friction and build loyalty in an increasingly saturated market where major operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, and others compete for market share across regulated U.S. states.
