All Aces is one of those online video poker variants that expand the four of a kind hand ranking, awarding higher payouts at the same time. Some of the other payouts are adjusted downwards so as to prevent the average return to player exceeding 100%. This article analyses All Aces video poker in comparison with Jacks or Better, which is the deemed standard variant. The Microgaming payout table is used for both video poker variants. The payouts cited are per coin wagered but for five coins wagered.

The hand rankings are the same in both online video poker variants, except for four of a kind. Instead of the single four of a kind hand ranking in Jacks or Better, All Aces has three distinct four of a kind hand rankings. One of them is obviously four aces. The other two are four of a kind from twos to fours and four of a kind from fives to kings. All three pay more than the 25 coins in the Jacks or Better table. Four aces has the highest payout of 400 coins and this is higher than even for straight flush. Four of a kind from twos to fours pays 100 coins and four of a kind from fives to kings pays 50 coins.

The compensation is done in the following hands. The payout for full house is reduced from 9 coins in Jacks or Better to 7 coins in All Aces. Similarly the payout for flush is reduced from 6 coins to 5 coins and the payout for two pairs is reduced from 2 coins to 1 coin. The reductions may appear small compared to the massive absolute increase in the four of a kind hands. But you have to factor in that these hands will occur much more frequently. The mathematically correct process is to compensate for the expected returns. These changes slightly overcompensate; therefore the payout for straight flush is increased from 50 coins in Jacks or Better to 60 coins in All Aces. In the net, the average return for All Aces is slightly higher. It is 99.91% as compared to 99.54% compared to Microgaming Jacks or Better.

The game play is the same as in all Microgaming online video poker variants. You also have the double option that allows you to try and double your payout after every win. All Aces online video poker can be played at all Microgaming online casinos like All Slots, Ballroom Blackjack and Royal Vegas.
