The New Microgaming Gamble Game

The Gamble Game is a common feature in the online slot games of some software providers like Microgaming and Playtech. These games allow players an opportunity to enhance payouts won at zero house edge. The game is not risk free. If players lose the gamble game then they will forfeit the payouts won in the online slots spin.

Hitherto the Microgaming Gamble Game functioned essentially as follows. The player had to stake the entire payout won in the online slots spin. The player could opt for guessing the color of the next card dealt from red or black. If he guessed correctly the payout would be doubled, otherwise it would be forfeited. Alternatively, the player could opt for guessing the suit of the next card dealt from spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs. If he guessed correctly the payout would be quadrupled, otherwise it would be forfeited.

In May 2012 Microgaming released a new online slot game titled Untamed Bengal Tiger. This slot machine has an upgraded version of the Gamble Game titled Your Gamble. This Gamble Game is also optional and can be activated in the same way. But since this is the first online slot with the new Gamble Game, a prompt message appears on the screen reminding players that the Your Gamble feature is available.

The screen that appears when Your Gamble is activated is completely different from the earlier screen. The rules are described in some detail on the left side of the screen. The buttons required to operate the game are arranged along the bottom. The centre of the screen displays a globe with a pointer where Your Gamble is played.

The Bet cell indicates the payout amount that is at stake. By default the Collect cell also displays this amount to start with. Players can click on the Collect button and collect the amount in the Collect cell and end the Gamble Game. There is a Bank button, clicking which allows players to save 50% of the payout. The bet amount will be halved and the other half will appear in the Bank cell.

The amount shown in the Bet cell, before or after banking, is the amount staked by the player in the Microgaming Your Gamble feature. It is called Your Gamble because players can set the target as per his liking up to 20 times the bet amount. The exact multiplier can be selected by manipulating the plus and minus buttons on either side of the Gamble To Win cell. This cell does not display the multiplier but the absolute amount that will be won for the amount staked. If the multiplier is set to 20 then the globe is divided into 20 sectors. 19 sectors will be colored red and one sector will be colored green. From this position, clicking the minus button once will produce 18 red sectors and 2 green sectors. The multiplier will be 10 times. As the red area decreases and the green area increases, the multiplier will decrease.

When the player has set the amount that he wants to try for, he clicks the Spin button. The pointer rotates around the globe. If it comes to rest on the red area the player loses the bet amount. If it comes to rest on the green area the player wins the amount shown in the Gamble To Win cell. Since the player can repeat the Gamble Game till the limit is reached, the amount won becomes the new bet amount and the amounts in the other cells adjust accordingly.
