The Key Sucker Bets to Know in Casino Table Games

There are certain table games that are considered to be a part of the classic canon of games that will probably never go away. In each of these games, there are certain sucker bets that people play from time to time that have a much worse payout rate and a much worse house advantage than almost anything else available. We want to point out the main sucker bets that you need to know about so that you can avoid them and stick to the bets that will give you better odds.

Roulette is a good game to start out with because almost every single bet in this game has the same house advantage and payout rate. In fact, if you play European roulette like you should, then there is no way to make a bet that does not have the same payout rate as everything else even though the level of risk and reward will be different. In American roulette, however, there's one bet that's different, and that's a bet on the cluster 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. This is the worst bet available in American roulette and the only way to wager that doesn't have the same payout rate as everything else.

In Baccarat, you run into a similar sort of circumstance. The main three bets that all forms of Baccarat have are the banker bet, the player bet and the tie bet. While the player and banker bets are very close together in terms of payout rate at barely more than a one percent house advantage for each, the tie bet has a much worse payout rate. In fact, the house advantage for this bet is in the 13-15 percent range depending on how many decks the game is using making it one of the worst table games bets you can find anywhere.

Blackjack is another game that gets a lot of attention as being a classic table game, and it's not without its own sucker bets. The main sucker bet most of the time is the surrender option. People tend to use this option a lot more than they should. In fact, the only time you should do it in most games is when you have a hard 16 against a dealer who holds exactly a ten or an ace. You can do it more in some games, but for the most part, these are the only times you should do it.
