Street Fighter IV Scores Over Street Fighter II

In the latest pack of online slot games released by Cryptologic is Street Fighter IV. This is the second slot game based on Street Fighter. The earlier version, Street Fighter II, is already extremely popular at Cryptologic online casinos. Street Fighter II was released in April 2008. Comparisons between the two versions of the Street Fighter slots will obviously be made. Both are excellent games and version IV only just about scores over version II.

The real difference between the two versions is that the bonus feature is played differently. In Street Fighter IV the round is triggered when three scatter symbols appear on the reels. A basic of 10 free spins are available. Enhancements are decided by a fight between a chosen Street Fighter and the designated enemy. For example if Ryu is chosen then the payouts can be multiplied up to 40 times. If Chun-Li is chosen then extra Chun-Li wild symbols are added on the reels. The extent of the enhancement is determined by the move allotted to the Street Fighter. This is done randomly by pressing a STOP button. In the case of Ryu, the Punch has a multiplier of 6 or 10, the Kick has a multiplier of 25 and the Ultra Combo has a multiplier of 40. If the Street Fighter defeats his opponent in the fight the appropriate enhancement is awarded, otherwise the player gets the simple 10 free spins.

In Street Fighter II the bonus feature is triggered when the chosen Street Fighter appears on Reel 2 and Bison appears on Reel 4. Then the Street Fighter and Bison expand to cover the entire reels. Reels 1, 3 and 5 re-spin. Reels 1 and 5 display the moves that will be made by the Street Fighter and Bison. The two opponents act accordingly inflicting damage on each other and reducing each other’s life meters. Actions performed by the Street Fighter award credits to the player that are multiplied by the total bet. The re-spins continue until the Street fighter or Bison is defeated, which is indicated by the life meter depleting completely.

Street Fighter IV is a slicker slot game. The introductory clip is graphically rich and has great animations. The symbols on the reels are the same Street Fighter accessories in both games. But in Street Fighter II they appear static whereas in Street Fighter IV they have been crafted to give a dynamic appearance more in consonance with the action theme. In the final analysis it is this slicker appearance of Street Fighter IV that gives it the edge.

Both the Street Fighter slots can be played at all Cryptologic online casinos. Casino Advisor recommends InterCasino and VIP Casino.

I've played this game in fun mode and really wasn't impressed with it but I'm kind of bias as I don't really like any of the Cryptologic casino games.

If you're not going to take a game like this seriously and do an amazing job developing the game it's best not to do it at all. I saw some screenshots of both of these games on another site recently and wasn't too impressed. I would have much rather have seen a development company like Microgaming or Wizard Gaming execute on the development of a Street Fighter game I think they would have really done a bang up job!

I've checked out this new game after reading this news on it's release and also the comment you posted here Danny. I looked at both of these games both the original Street Fighter game introduced to the Cryptologic library of games in addition to the new one and I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed with either of the games.

Sweet another street fighter game... I tried the first one for fun a while back and though it was ok hopefully they did a better job on this one. I would have liked to have seen a better bonus round in the first one and would hope they would have improved it this round.
