Seized Online Gambling Domains On Sale

Nine online gambling domain names seized as part of the US Department of Justice (DoJ) Blue Monday sting operation in Maryland are on the block. The most notable of these is DoylesRoom.com, the signature online gambling portal of the poker legend Doyle Brunson. Most of the operators did not suffer any setback on account of the seizure because they immediately switched to either the .eu or the .ag domain, over which the American enforcement authorities had no power. They abandoned their original .com domains which were taken over by the DoJ.

There is considerable mystery involved in this sale offer. It is not clear as to who the actual seller is and there are rumors at online gambling forums that the apparent seller is a front company. The domain names are all now registered in the name of US Poker Marketing Affiliate, LLC of Las Vegas. The website of this company seems to indicate that it is under the control of an online gambling professional and highly qualified lawyer named David Gzesh. The web site claims that Gzesh has over 20 years experience in the industry as an online poker network operator and software provider, with expertise in both business and legal aspects of online gambling. He is a regular at Internet gambling conferences, where he offers his informed view on the re-emerging US online gaming markets and regulatory development. David Gzesh Law Offices in Las Vegas provide poker and online gaming industry clients an understanding of their business issues and goals. They also advise both online and brick and mortar gaming operators in a number of jurisdictions, both in the United States and overseas. Gzesh was elected in 2010 as a General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law and as a member of the State Bar of Nevada Section on Gaming Law.

Two of the online gambling sites that Gzesh has founded and operated are the Yatahay Network and TruePoker.com. The Yatahay Network has been renamed Winning Poker Network. TruePoker.com is the intriguing case because it was one of the domains that had been seized by the DoJ and is now on sale. That the operator of a seized domain is now involved in the sale raises many questions. One thinking in online gambling industry circles is that Gzesh is a front for the DoJ. Another view is that he has acquired these domains from the DoJ and is reselling them. It is not known how Gzesh could have obtained these domains. Hopefully the questions will be answered in the coming weeks.
