Roulette Probability

To understand probability of Roulette it is important for you to understand the game. In Roulette each spin is independent of the last spin. This means there are no patterns to study, but we aren't here to talk about strategy so see our Roulette Pattern Strategy for more details in that area.

First off the odds of getting any number in Roulette is the same, but the odds or probability of winning a bet is going to change. You see with the roulette wheel one number is always going to be won, but you can bet more than ten different ways to make sure you are on the right number when the marble lands. Of course you could say you are on the wrong number when you bet as well, depending on where you bet.

You can think of Roulette as more of a coin toss. In other words on a coin you have heads and tails. The probability is 50 percent that you will get heads over tails. Of course when you try tossing the coin you might find that out of ten tosses you actually got heads over tails 100 percent of the time. With Roulette you are going to have the same odds for getting any of the 37 slots on the wheel.

You can't say that you will get red numbers 50 percent of the time over black. The wheel is not going to work that way, even though you have an even number of black and red slots. We are including a table for you to view below regarding the possible outcomes and your chances of winning.

The table above is showing you the probability for winning on a single zero wheel. Check out the possibility of winning with choosing one number. That probability is 2.7 which means you have a 97.3 chance of missing the bet every time you play it. When you bet on 18 numbers the probability is 48.65 percent that you will win and 51.35 that you will not. This is almost near that 50:50 ratio we were talking about above. You should stick with the bets in Roulette that have this high probability or near to it, so you can be more successful.

You might not be taking the huge risks and earning a great pile of money, but on the other hand you are more consistent in wins, which usually translates into more money at the end of the rounds you are going to play. So do make sure you know your probabilities before playing.
