Resolving Unlimited Bonuses

There are quite a few online casinos that offer unlimited bonuses. There are two ways that bonuses are made unlimited. The more common way is that there is no upper limit on the bonus that may be availed against a deposit. The other way that a bonus is made unlimited is that there is no limit to the number of deposits on which the bonuses may be availed. Usually both conditions apply. The question that many players ask is whether these bonuses are really unlimited. Theoretically they are unlimited and there is no catch there. But there is so much fine print in bonus terms and conditions that practical limits do arise.

The offer of an unlimited bonus is like a buffet dinner that advertises "eat as much as you want". You can eat all you want but the restaurateur knows that there is a limit to how much the patrons can eat. Similarly online casinos know how much bonuses players can actually claim and in reality unlimited bonuses are advertising gimmicks.

The first obstruction comes at the deposit stage itself. Unlimited bonuses are deposit match bonuses. The player has to make a deposit in order to avail of the bonus. And no matter what the bonus percent may be, the larger the bonus that the player wants the larger his deposit has to be. There are several constraints on the deposit. The first one is the availability of the player's own funds. No one has unlimited funds. In fact most players would be wagering with modest bankrolls. Even high rollers would have some limit on the amount they can wager. The other constraint on the deposit amount is imposed by the online casino itself. In some cases the limit on the deposits would be imposed by the payment option provider like the credit card supplier or the electronic wallet provider. High rollers can negotiate much higher limits for themselves but nothing is unlimited. Once it is realized that there is a limit on the deposit it is clear that there is a limit on the "unlimited" bonus as well.

The second and more difficult to overcome hurdle in the realizing of unlimited bonuses is the play through or wagering requirement. All bonuses come with wagering requirements. The larger the bonuses availed the larger the wagering requirements will be. These wagering requirements have to be completed in a stipulated time frame, usually ranging from a few days to a few weeks. As the bonuses grow in size players will have to wager larger amounts in that specified period and at some point a break will be reached. Here players need to understand that larger wagering requirements cannot be met by increasing the size of the bet. Most wagering requirement fine print stipulates that the wager cannot be above a specified size, which is quite low compared to the table maximum bet. Hence larger wagering requirement need more time and there is not an unlimited supply of that.

This is not to say that the offer of unlimited wagering requirements is a con. There are undoubtedly some players who will be able to claim larger bonuses through the unlimited bonus offer. But most players are not able to avail the limited bonus offers to their fullest and therefore unlimited bonus offers mean little to them.
