In one of its press releases this week Playtech has announced significant online casino and poker launches in the newly regulated Spanish market. Playtech said that its licensees operating in Spain include a combination of its existing licensees that are operating in other regulated jurisdictions and local gaming and media companies. Using this strategy Playtech aims to uses their market leading position and well recognized brands to maximum effect.

It is obvious that Playtech was ready for the Spanish market prior to the issue of online gaming licenses by the Spanish government early in June. Playtech’s regular online casino product had been adapted to ensure full compliance with Spanish regulation. The online poker rooms offered by its Spanish licensees are part of Playtech’s new poker network iPokerSpain.es, which is the first multiple-licensee poker network to launch under Spanish regulation.

Hence it is hardly surprising that Playtech licensees were among first to launch their products in Spain. These licensees include Bet365 casino, Bet 365 poker, William Hill casino and Poker 770. The other recent announcements from Playtech include its move to the main London Stock Exchange and information on its activities in unregulated Asian markets.
