If you're looking for the minimum system requirements required to have in order to play at casinos powered by the following review and ensure you have an adequate system before proceeding to download and install online casino software.

Minimum System Requirements by Software Provider:

Online casino games are ultimately played on the computer system of the player. The processor, the monitor, the operating system, the browser and the Internet connection all combine to provide the gaming experience. If these are found to be inadequate then the quality of the gaming experience will suffer. In the worst case it may be impossible to play the games at all. Other problems that could occur are slow game speeds, bad quality graphics, frequent Internet disconnections and maybe some features becoming dysfunctional. In order to ensure that players enjoy playing, online casinos specify the minimum requirements that the payers' computer systems should possess. These would normally be given in the FAQs section. The requirements are formulated by the software provider and would be the same for all online casinos powered by that software provider. The minimum system requirements specified by the more popular software providers are given below. These requirements should be met by most computer systems currently on offer.

Microgaming Casino Minimum System Requirements:

  • Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP
  • Pentium III 800 MHz processor or greater
  • 128 MB of system memory available
  • 32 MB of video memory
  • 800 x 600 video resolution (16 bit color)
  • 500 MB of available hard drive space
  • Internet access with at least 56 Kbps connection speed

  • Note: Some games such as Tomb Raider Secret of the Sword and Hitman have slightly higher optimal minimum system requirements however they should still work on the above system configuration.

Vegas Technology Casino Minimum System Requirements:

  • Windows 98/NT/2000/Millennium Edition/XP/Vista
  • IE, Mozilla Firefox, or Netscape
  • Pentium 200 MHz
  • 64 MB RAM
  • 16-bit color video card (800x600 resolution mode)
  • 100 MB free hard drive space

Playtech Casino Minimum System Requirements:

  • Windows Vista/XP/2000/98/NT/95
  • P166MMX
  • 32MB RAM
  • 16-bit color 600x800 resolution
  • 20MB free hard disk space

Cryptologic Casino Minimum System Requirements:

  • PC-compatible computer
  • Windows 98 or higher (NT excluded)
  • Pentium 200 MHz or higher
  • 48 MB RAM
  • 4 MB video card with 16-bit color (800x600 or higher)
  • DirectX 7 or higher
  • Macromedia Flash 5 (or higher)
  • 35 MB hard drive space

Realtime Gaming Casino Minimum System Requirements:

  • Pentium II 300 MHz.
  • At least 64 MB RAM (internal memory)
  • At least 50 MB of free Hard Drive space
  • Operating System - Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/XP/2000.
  • 56K Modem (making sure the connection speed is greater than 40K).
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 (or above), Netscape version 6 (or above) or AOL version 5 (or above).

The requirements for Microgaming are more stringent in most respects, needing more memory space in particular. This is because Microgaming offers more than 300 games in the download version, which is much more than what others offer. Also these requirements are minimum system requirements. Casino Advisor suggests that players go for the recommended requirements, which entails greater memories, higher resolutions and faster speeds. These will not only give a more enjoyable experience but also cater to additional games and features that are introduced from time to time. Players should also realize that the gaming experience is not only visual but audio as well. Hence good speakers are assets to online gaming.

Having a top end system is really great guys when it comes to playing any online games and something that I would without a doubt recommend to people.

I've seen vast improvements to the quality of the gaming that I get out of playing at online casinos now that I've updated to a far superior computer. It's really amazing how much of a difference it really makes.

I would say that based on some of the newer online casino games that they're releasing these days that the minimum system requirements as seen above should be increased.

Playing on a GOOD PC is a key factor in the expereince that you have playing at online casinos. Obviously it's not the most important one and winning I would say is but the fact of the matter is that having a good computer to play casino games on is very much recommended.

A real pain in the you know what when you don't have good stuff in place when you want to play. I think if you're serious about gaming whether it being PC hardcore gaming or online casino type gaming it's always going to be a good idea to have yourself a good PC to play on.

Beefing up on RAM never hurts regardless of whether you're playing games at online casinos or any other sort of games on your PC it will always help. Also having more hard drive space is always a good idea especially if you're going to be running and have several online casinos installed on your PC.

There's absolutely a huge benefit of playing on systems that exceed that of the minimum system requirements stipulated by the online casino software providers. This especially holds true as their games evolve and require more and more RAM, hard drive space and CPU power.

Lol... there's nothing worse then being on a slow computer and watching the reels on a slot game spin I had this happen to me once when I installed and played one of the casinos I normally play on but on a different computer at a friends house. There's no question that a good computer will enhance your gaming expereince to the point where it get's much close to the kind of gaming expereince you'd get if you were to play at a land based casino.

Just like playing any game on your PC or Mac having a good computer with plenty of RAM, hard drive space and processing power can make all the difference in your gaming experience. I've always been one to opt for better quality systems and as a result I've always had great gaming experience regardless of which online casino I'm playing at. I think it's key and everyone whose serious about playing at online casinos, poker rooms or playing bingo online should have decent size monitors and fairly good computers if they want to full enjoy. Having great speakers doesn't hurt either :)

I've found that the minimum system requirements that are often times posted on the websites of online casinos are incorrect in that they do not take into consideration the fact that online casino software is fairly organic and is always changing. There have been times where I've seen a Microgaming online casino promoting the minimum system requirements for the old Thumper software when it's clear that they've been operating on the Microgaming Viper software platform for quite some time. Moreover I've also found that games like Hitman among a few others don't operate all that well on older systems... I think I've seen that some of their games actually make mention of new "suggested" minimum system requirements in their little flash preview presentation before entering the game.
