In a press release issued from its headquarters at Isle of Man, Microgaming has proudly announced that it has achieved a hat trick at the Global Gaming Awards. For the third year in a row, it was awarded the Digital Product of the Year, this time for its multi-operator platform Quickfire. Digital product refers to online gaming product as opposed to land based gaming.

The 2016 Global Gaming Awards were announced on September 26 at a glittering ceremony held at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Centre in Las Vegas. The Global Gaming Awards celebrate the best in the year’s digital and land-based gaming. There are 12 awards that recognise various facets of the industry achievements. The Global Gaming Awards are believed to have the most broad based jury system. A panel of 60 expert judges cast their vote to decide the winners.

Gambling Insider is one of the key sponsors of the Global Gaming Awards. Alex Hammond, editor of the journal, congratulated Microgaming referring to it as one of the biggest names in the digital supply industry. The judges praised the impact that Quickfire had made in the digital gaming industry as a whole in 2016, not failing to point out the intensely competitive nature of the competition for the Digital Product of the Year category. The judges especially noted Quickfire’s speed of delivery, speed of integration and speed of access. The other contenders for this award included NetEnt for its Guns N Roses branded video slot and Playtech for Playtech ONE.

The Quickfire platform supports Microgaming’s casino, poker, bingo, multiplayer, mobile and live dealer software. It is available in multiple jurisdictions across the world. It has just announced that it will be providing content to bwin.party in Spain, Belgium and Bulgaria. Quickfire offers more than 600 online casino games from Microgaming and its development partners like Rabcat to more than 400 online brands. In January, Microgaming also released Quickfire iQ, an intelligent game management module that puts operators in control of free games, multipliers, achievements, incentives and more.

Andrew Clucas, Director of Quickfire at Microgaming, said, “This win highlights the incredible progress of Quickfire since launching in 2010. The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners. It’s great to see the industry celebrate the content, flexibility and innovation of Quickfire.” In 2015 Microgaming won the Digital Product of the Year for its path breaking Jurassic Park branded slot.
