Microgaming keeps its players informed about its latest developments through press releases at its web site. Usually these releases cover new games, changes to software, new online casinos and similar information. However a release issued on April 26 was quite against form. It was titled "Mega Moolah Progressive Jackpot Powered by Microgaming Goes from Strength to Strength" and promotes this game released over three years ago in November 2006.

The press release begins by stating that Microgaming "is experiencing continued success from the hugely popular Mega Moolah progressive slot game." However the bulk of the information is about how much players have benefited from Mega Moolah. The progressive slot game has four jackpot levels, Mega, Major, Maxi and Mini. Since its launch over one million players have won more than €44 million across all four levels. The top most level, the Mega Moolah jackpot, has been hit five times and has paid out over €12.3 million. More than half of this has gone to a single winner who received a staggering €6.37 million. However the largest cumulative payout has come from the third level, which is the Maxi Jackpot. The Maxi Jackpot has paid over €20 million to over a quarter of a million players.

The press release said that the amount shown on the progressive ticker is paid out in the currency in which the winner has played the game. If the winner is from the United Kingdom then the payouts are in British pounds and if the winner is from Spain the payouts are in Euros. Microgaming also explained the philosophy behind the four-level jackpot. Whereas at one end it provides life changing amounts one in a while at the other end it spreads the largesse by offering small payments very frequently. Therefore "it’s not just big winners who benefit from the game." The Mega Moolah pays out a top prize of at least 1,000,000; the Major Moolah starts at 10,000; the Maxi Moolah starting level is at 100 and finally the Mini Moolah pays out at least 10.

Mike Hebden, Head of Casino, at Microgaming said, "We have been delighted by the success of Mega Moolah since its launch and its unique design and in–game features have proved tremendously popular with a wide range of players. Innovation has always been at the heart of what we do and we are committed to providing market leading software that continues to engage with players and push the boundaries of what a progressive slot can do."

The press release also goes on to say that all the Microgaming progressive jackpots till date have paid out €276 million. It has also been highlighted that all Microgaming progressives are paid out in single payments.
