Mega Moolah Progressive Crosses $5 Million

Over the last few weeks there had been a race going on in the online casino industry. It was between Mega Moolah being hit and Mega Moolah breaching the $5 million mark. A few days ago the latter event won.

The progressive jackpot online slot game from Microgaming, Mega Moolah, has been the online casino game of 2008. It was hit in April 2008 at a whopping $5.6 million. Reset at $1 million the progressive jackpot rose steadily throughout the year. Just as the jackpot neared the $5 million mark the activity on this online slot increased feverishly. The jackpot amount has been rising by about $10,000 a day. At this level it should exceed its record payout level of $5.6 million in early March. However the activity is now bound to increase. With a payout of over $5 million Mega Moolah has become perhaps the most attractive of all online casino games. Therefore it would not be surprising if the record level is breached in February itself. All this speculation presupposes that it will not be hit before then.

The unique feature in Mega Moolah is the 4-tiered progressive jackpot. The jackpot is hit in the bonus round. The bonus round is not activated by a combination of symbols but triggered randomly. In the bonus round the player spins a wheel and can win one of four progressive jackpots. The Mega Moolah jackpot starts at $1 million, the Major jackpot starts at $10,000, the Minor jackpot starts at $100 and the Mini jackpot starts at $10.

Mega Moolah was last hit in April 2008 when a Finnish player, 'Klaus E', won $5.6 million with a wager of $0.50. This happened at Blackjack Ballroom Casino, which is the flagship brand of the Casino Rewards group. Klaus was the 13th millionaire at Microgaming online casinos and the 4th millionaire at a Casino Rewards online casino. The first two things that Klaus did with his winnings were to pay off the mortgage on his apartment and take a vacation. But before that he was flown to Sydney by the Casino Rewards group. There he was not only given the huge check but shown around the city as well. Mega Moolah is a popular progressive slot at all Microgaming online casinos. We recommend 7 Sultans Casino, All Slots Casino, Blackjack Ballroom Casino, Jackpot City Casino, Lucky Nugget Casino, Platinum Play Casino, River Belle Casino and Roxy Palace Casino. It now remains to be seen where the next hit of Mega Moolah will take place. Will Blackjack Ballroom be the lucky online casino again or will it be some other Microgaming online casino this time.

Wow that's definitely a game I'm going to start playing more. I like it however I've only ever gotten into the bonus round where you can win the progressive once. I won some money but it wasn't much like $10 with and was the mini progressive in Mega Moolah. Anyways definitely a game worth playing especially with such a big progressive it's bound to hit soon.
