A large number of Marvel super heroes have been represented as branded online slot games and The Fantastic Four are among the more popular ones. This group was created by Marvel almost 50 years ago. The Fantastic Four were first brought to the reels in December 2007 by Cryptologic based on their agreement with Marvel Comics. Then Playtech's agreement with Marvel Movies saw another slot game version of The Fantastic Four in January 2010. Because of the extraordinary animations and bonus features these slot games have always been popular at both Cryptologic and Playtech online casinos. However a recent news item from Marvel has spiked up the traffic on these games.

The news item says that the foursome will become a trio. One of the Fantastic Four, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing, will die in issue No. 587 in January, 2010. Since the Marvel super heroes are cross linked in complex ways this disaster will have repercussions across the Marvel Universe like never before. The million dollar question on every Marvel fan's lips is "Who will die?" The answer today has more protection than the gold in Fort Knox. Tom Brevoort, the executive editor who oversees the comic book, says that the true Marvel fans should know because plenty of clues have been offered during the course of writer Jonathan Hickman's run, including the current "Three" storyline.

Brevoort said, "I think we've given plenty of hints as to who may die - perhaps too many, in that every one of our lead characters is left in a dire, life-threatening situation the month before. So, hopefully, that will help to heighten the suspense, while preserving the surprise as to which member doesn't make it out alive."

Online sports books have gone into action fast and are offering odds on the ill fated character. The odds on The Thing are 100 to 1. The bookies obviously feel that the super powers possessed by The Thing are sufficient to guarantee its immortality. Mr. Fantastic has been given odds of 6 to 1. Next on the list is the Human Torch with odds of 4 to 1. The book makers feel that the Invisible Woman is most likely to die because she is at even money. There is also a view that this entire hullabaloo is a ruse to jack up the readership. One character will die but reappear at a later date with some explanation. Marvel have done this before and hence may do it again. This is the advantage of branded slots. Action taken by the brand has a positive impact on the slot games as well. And the Fantastic Four slots are already getting heated up.
