Let It Ride By Software Providers

Let It Ride is a poker based online casino game that is offered by most online gaming software providers. It is listed under Table Games and is sometimes called Let ‘Em Ride. There is more variation in the Let It Ride game than in most other casino games. Three typical variants from leading software providers are discussed in this article.

Rival Gaming online casinos provides one of the simplest variants of Let It Ride. Players place three equal bets within the allowed range. Three cards are dealt to the player after which the player has the option of withdrawing one of the bets. Then the fourth card is dealt and the player has the option of removing one more bet. Finally the last card is dealt and the full five card poker hand is matched against a payout table. If there is a winning combination then all the bets remaining on the table are paid out according to the payout table.

The payout table forms one of the points of difference between software providers and therefore it is essential to describe the Rival Gaming payout table in detail. The payout for royal flush is 250, for straight flush is 50, for four of a kind is 25, for full house is 12, for flush is 10, for straight is 8, for three of a kind is 3, for two pairs is 2 and for tens or better is 1.

Cryptologic online casinos also provide Let It Ride, but with a markedly different payout table. The payouts at the less frequently occurring higher rankings are considerably greater. The payout for royal flush is 1,000, for straight flush is 200 and for four of a kind is 50. This is compensated by marginally lower payouts for some of the very frequently occurring hands. The payout for full house is 11, for flush is 9 and for straight is 5. Thus the average return to the player would be about the same, but Rival Gaming Let It Ride would be suitable for the conservative player whereas Cryptologic Let It Ride would be suited for the risk taking player.

The other feature of the Cryptologic Let It Ride is a Bonus Bet. This is an optional bet of a fixed amount of 1 credit that pays as follows. The payout for royal flush is 30,000, for straight flush is 3,000, for four of a kind is 400, for full house is 200, for flush is 50, for straight is 25 and for three of a kind is 5. Cryptologic also offers a Multi Player Let It Ride.

Microgaming calls its variant Poker Ride. The game play is significantly different. Instead of placing all three wagers upfront and then having the option of removing bets, Poker Ride starts with one wager upfront and allows players the option of adding wagers. Since this is the normal procedure in poker based casino games, the novelty of the reverse procedure is lost in Poker Ride.

Microgaming Poker Ride has the same main game payout table as Cryptologic Let It Ride. It also has a side bet, which is slightly different. It is a 1 credit bet but it is compulsory and automatically wagered each time. This bet leads to a progressive jackpot. If the player hits a royal flush he wins the entire amount in the progressive jackpot, which is in addition to the main game payout. Straight flush pays 10% of the progressive jackpot.
