Innovative New Slot From Microgaming

Microgaming is known for the innovativeness it brings to its online casino games and in particular to its online slots. This month Microgaming has released The Great Galaxy Grab that has a bonus game the likes of which perhaps not been seen before. The game is aptly named Space Chase.

The uniqueness of the bonus game has its genesis in the introductory video clip. Captain Bronzebeard has acquired a new space galleon, Stella. He spends far too much time with her and neglects his husbandly duties as a result. This enrages his wife Steel Scarlet. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and Scarlet steals Stella’s heart and takes off into outer space. The captain, accompanied by his crew Deckhand Dan, Trusty Rusty and Dozer, follow the trail Stella left behind her. It leads the captain to six galactic hot spots each of which becomes the venue for a bonus game.

Three or more Steel Scarlet symbols trigger the bonus game. The innovative feature is that the player is taken to each bonus game in sequence. Suppose the player completes two bonus games and decides to stop playing and exits from the casino. After a few days he loads the game again and hits three or more Stella Scarlet symbols. The software would remember that the player had completed two bonus games and automatically take him to the third. In due course the player will complete all six bonus games and discover if Captain Bronzebeard finds his wife Scarlet and also if he gets Stella’s heart back.

The environment of each bonus game fits in well with both the overall galactic theme of the slot game and the specific story it narrates. The first stop is the Astrobank where the player grabs 6 out of the 12 Astro Doubloons. Each one contains a mystery amount that adds to his spending money. The player can win up to 21,000 credits. Next stop is the Gas Station where the player has to match four of the same fuel logos in order to reveal a hidden multiplier. Up to 25,000 credits are on offer at the Gas Station. Then the player goes to the Diner. He chooses one of the three items from the menu but if he does not like it he can change the order twice. Up to 25,000 credits are up for grabs. The fourth stop is the Saloon. Here the player has to decide which card is higher or lower in order to win bonus multipliers and then complete a poker hand to vie for up to 40,000 credits. From the Saloon the player moves to the Casino. Here he spins the Big Wheel to win bonus multipliers and re-spins and up to 42,500 credits. The Space Chase ends at the Mall. He can buy stuff till his spending limit is reached. Here up to 45,000 credits are on offer. The Space Chase bonus game would not be activated that easily so players will be engrossed in this game a long time before they complete the chase with Captain Bronzebeard.
