Gold Series European Roulette Review

European Roulette Gold, part of the Gold Series of games offered by Microgaming, brings the closest thing to an actual experience at the roulette table as is available in the online gaming world. The game is rich with features and options for the player, something that will certainly please the customer who is more experienced with roulette. At the same time it is not a bad way to introduce the European version of the game to beginners.

The graphic interface is phenomenal, producing a roulette table and wheel that are quite true-to-life, not to mention bringing ambient casino sounds into the action. The player has a load of options, including the ability to adjust the speed of the game, place many of the "exotic" bets and exercise Autoplay when in Expert Mode. Read Full Review

Full Review - Gold Series European Roulette (8.84)

As many people are aware, roulette is played in two different versions - the American version and the European version. In the American version, the wheel has both a zero (0) and a double zero (00). In the European version, there is only the single zero. The effect is that in the European game, there is a slightly greater percentage of a red or a black number coming up on the wheel, which consists of numbers 1-36 in addition to the zero.

The objective behind roulette is simple - to select the number on the layout that corresponds to the place the ball will land on the wheel. This can obviously be done using a number of different bets. There are different denominations of chips in the player's virtual tray, and those chips are placed onto the table layout in whatever form the player desires in order to facilitate the wagers. There are charts which document the results of past spins, as well as how much of the layout your wagers covers. For example, if you place on chip on one number, you are covering 2.70% of the layout.

The table layout is clear enough to see, and there is an inset which shows the ball and the pocket where it landed on the wheel. For people who may be uncomfortable with the angle, one can use the "Edit Layout" option to get an overhead view of the table, place bets as desired, and save that particular pattern, to be converted over to the normal table view.
