One of the more frustrating experiences in online gaming is to access a game and then find that it is not suitable to your needs in a very basic manner. An example is landing with a blackjack variant in which the dealer wins ties. Whereas some players would not mind that because of the compensating advantages offered, others would want to avoid this variant at all costs. It is all the more frustrating if precious time is spent downloading the game and then finding that it is unsuitable. Such experiences turn the player against the online gaming software provider and in the end it is the software provider who suffers.
The better online gaming software providers have taken cognizance of this and in their attempt to provide more user friendly software they include game previews in their lobby. These previews include brief game rules and/or screenshots of the games. The players can go through the preview, understand what to expect from the game and decide if they want to download the game.
In Microgaming powered online casinos the players have to go to the games section from the main lobby and then access the particular game category to get a listing of the games in that category. Two options are available to players. They can see the games listed in a text list form or in a matrix type graphical layout of the games logos. Either way the preview is the same. The preview appears in a box on the right of the screen as the cursor is placed on the game name or logo. The preview gives the game name on the top with a screenshot below it and then a summary of the rules or features. The preview of Atlantic City Blackjack is shown in the screenshot below.
In Vegas Technology powered online casinos the games categories are directly given in the main lobby and the individual games can be accessed by following the drop down menus from there. The preview appears in a small box at the bottom left hand corner. The information provided is the jackpot ticker, where relevant, and the betting limits. The remaining details have to be understood from the screenshot provided. This is not very difficult for experienced players but could be a problem for new players. The preview of Progressive Blackjack is shown in the screenshot below.
Wizard Gaming offers only just over 20 games of which one is a blackjack variant and the other are slots. All the games are listed directly in the main lobby. The preview appears across the top right of the screen. There is a screenshot and a brief write up. As you can see from the preview of the 80s Night video slot it's very easy to spot that the game features a bonus round and additionally a free spins bonus round. The preview for Wizard Gaming casino games is more in detail then that of other onlin ecasino software providers.
