Freerolls in Tournaments Are Bonuses

Online casinos offer bonuses to attract and retain players in their fold. Most bonuses are offered as free playing credits for making a deposit at the casino or for referring a friend. Some bonuses are offered by allowing players to play games at the casino for free and keep the winnings. A similar bonus is offered by allowing players to participate in tournaments for free and retain the prizes. Such tournaments are known as freerolls. Though these are not usually billed as bonuses, in effect they are bonuses.

Freeroll tournaments are of two types. One type offers cash prizes. This amount gets credited into the players account and can be used to play the casino games or as entry fees for buy-in tournaments. Many online casinos sweeten the welcome bonus by giving a free entry to a beginner's freeroll tournament. Only new members are allowed to participate in these freerolls so as to enable them to learn the ropes without being intimidated by the presence of the expert players. All online casinos that offer tournaments offer freerolls. Most of them offer freerolls on a daily basis. The prize pools that are shared by the winners are modest but that is understandable because they are free. Participating in a freeroll does not take much time. Usually the player is given 30 minutes. It is worth taking this time out. If the player wins it is a bonus. If he does not then at least he has been able to play for free and been given a chance to work on his tournament strategy so that he can perform better next time. VIP freerolls offer substantive prize pools. These are bonuses for players who have demonstrated their loyalty by wagering regularly at the casino and reaching certain VIP levels. VIP freerolls are not held as frequently as the normal freerolls but since they offer big prizes they are an attraction for the VIP clients.

The other type of freerolls offer free entries to bigger tournaments with huge prize pools. Usually players have to pay a buy-in to enter these bigger tournaments but the winners of the qualifying freerolls do not. Hence the winners of the freerolls get the buy-in amount as a bonus. And if the freeroll qualifier goes on to win the tournament then the prize is as good as a bonus. If the tournament is really big and spans a few months the player may be required to go through a number of qualifiers. Players starting from freerolls and winning upwards of $10,000 are not unheard of.

Freeroll tournaments, like other bonuses, enable players to enhance their bankrolls. In fact there are players who have built their bankrolls only by participating in freerolls.

Free roll slots tournaments are a great way to try to get a piece of the action when playing in slots tournaments at very little risk. Sure you'll probably burn though the initial credits they give you at the casino but none the less you still have a chance to place well if you hit a few big wins in the games. I think that a good strategy if you're playing in a slots tournament online is to win a few big prizes and then quite. The reason being that as you continue to play your credits continue to deplete as the modes these slots games are played in are the same as that of when you're playing for real money thus the payout percentages on these slots games featured for the tournaments is generally around 94 - 96%.

As a way of attracting players to casinos I personally don't think that free roll tournaments don't constitute for the same kinds of online casino bonuses offered by most online casinos.
