English Harbour Group Gives Closure Notice

All these years the English Harbour group had offered popular brands, which were easily the best Vegas Technology powered online casinos. The first signs of a problem appeared for the group in May this year, which was indirectly linked to the Black Friday events in the United States. English Harbour issued an advisory to its marketing affiliates that read, "E.H. Gaming Ventures closed all of its casinos to new player registrations on May 16, 2011. The casinos remain open to existing players." All the brands of the English Harbour group, like Millionaire Casino, VIP Slots Casino, Silver Dollar Casino and Caribbean Gold Casino, continued to offer its regular promotions and online tournaments through June and July. This led its players in particular and the online gambling industry in general to believe that things had settled down.

This view was reinforced by a post as late as July 8 at a public online casino message board by a representative of the English Harbour group. The gist of the message was that the group online casinos are still operating for its customers. Due the events of the past couple of months all America facing online casinos are facing challenges in the area of reliable deposit options for our players, and the English Harbour group is no exception. The group is trying to function as best as it can during this period with hopes of getting some alternatives soon. Even now the customers are able to wager at the online casinos with their balances or request withdrawals if they choose. The casinos are not blocking the funds of the players.

Hence it has come as a complete surprise that all the online casino brands are now prominently displaying a closure notice on the home page of their web sites. The notice reads, "We recommend that you play out your balance or request a payout prior to August 1st. In the event that you have any questions please contact customer support. We would like to thank you for your loyalty through the years." This definitely seems like a final adieu.

However, at least as of now, a UK version of the site at Englishharbour.co.uk is functioning normally without the closure notice. Similar UK domains are functional for some, but not all, of the other brands. For instance Vipslots.co.uk is active. This could mean that the group is getting rid of the dotcom domains that are controlled from the United States but would keep operations alive as best as they can. Hopefully the English Harbour group will issue a statement sooner than later.
