EiG or the European i-Gaming expo is now in its eighth year. This year it is being held in Copenhagen from September 15 to September 17. The EiG is the largest trade event dedicated to i-Gaming. In the 2008 expo over 1500 delegates attended from over 60 countries. Anyone who has anything to do with i-Gaming will have a presence at the expo. There will be senior managers and experts from fields including law, regulation, finance, marketing, business development, fraud, payments and information technology.

A wide range of issues are expected to come up for discussion. On the opening day the conference will begin in the afternoon with Clarion Gaming welcoming the delegates. The key topics for discussion will be long term perspectives from the pioneers of the i-Gaming industry and forthcoming innovations in this field. One of the innovations that will be presented is a new casino software based on a different architecture that will challenge the existing models. Regulatory landscapes and the global context of i–Gaming businesses will also be discussed.

On September 16 after discussing winning strategies in the current environment the conference will split into three separate tracks. Track one will discuss acquiring new customers and retaining existing ones. The online player can hope for some innovative promotion models to follow. Track two will discuss the legal issues in different regions of the world, including the contentious UIGEA. Track three will deal with the marketing aspects. The focus will be on affiliates and the use of social networking through Facebook and Twitter.

On the final day two different issues will be taken up in different tracks. Track one will cover product differentiation. This is a very important topic because online casinos are becoming very much like each other. The player is getting a feeling of “you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all”. Track two will focus on new delivery channels like mobile gaming.

The speakers list is a galaxy of the i-Gaming industry. The online gaming operators are represented by the top leaders from corporations like 888.com, Ladbrokes, William Hill, PartyGaming, Betfair and Bodog. Countries have sent representatives from various bodies like National Gaming Commission Spain, Ministry of Finance Sweden and Ministry of Taxation Denmark. Members from associations like the GPWA, Remote Gambling Association and eCOGRA will also be speaking. There will be well known luminaries from the consulting, finance and legal arenas.

Clarion Gaming is the organizer of the European i-Gaming expo. This year the lead sponsor will be Playtech and the supporting sponsor will be Cryptologic. Both are leading gaming software providers who have made considerable progress through innovative strategic tie ups in the last year. Other sponsors include Bodog, Entropay and Microgaming.
