The European iGaming Congress and Expo 2010 (EiG 2010) will be held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen from October 19 to October 21. This will be the ninth annual edition of the EiG, which has over the years become one of the most important meeting grounds for the online gaming industry. The lead sponsor of the EiG is the online gaming software provider Playtech. Playtech has just won the award for the International AIM Company of the year at the 2010 AIM Awards in London. The other main sponsors are Cryptologic, OpenBet and Spin 3. Over 1,000 delegates have already confirmed their participation. They will represent online gaming operators, software developers, regulators, responsible gambling advocates, payments solution providers and others. The EiG has been organized by Clarion Gaming.

The core of the EiG 2010 is the conference that spans the three days. Some very relevant issues have been selected for discussion and there is a panel of eminent speakers from the industry. The key issues to be discussed on the opening day are the regulatory challenges, the main growth areas for online gaming and the climate for consolidation. The main discussion for the second day is the online gaming vision for 2015. Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech will be one of the speakers. The other sessions revolve around the interaction of online gaming with the entertainment and media industry, with off line casinos, with lotteries and with casual gaming technologies. Casual gaming is a rapidly growing field and interesting products can be developed by twining it with online gambling. There will be a separate session for discussing the legal issues in various parts of the world. Joe Brennan Junior, the
Chairman of iMEGA, will discuss the prevailing situation in New Jersey in the United States. The best is reserved for the third day. The first discussion deals with increasing of market share through innovation and branding. The second deals with the regulatory issues in the United States. Paul Mathews, the co-founder of WagerWorks will speak on the partnership route to access regulated American online gaming markets.

EiG 2010 has several other facets to it, especially for delegates not interested in the conference. It is an excellent opportunity for networking. There are two formal sessions for networking on the first day, but most of it will be done informally over lunches, drinks and dinners. There are workshops that would take delegates through the processes involved in obtaining online gaming licenses in France and Italy. One of the most exciting features of the EiG 2010 is the expo in which the latest products ready to go on stream would be on display. The exhibitors include Microgaming, Moneybookers, Playtech and WagerWorks.
