The Cryptologic software is excellent. It can be customized for sound options. The spinning of the reels can be eliminated by disabling animation in the game settings. Auto Play and Bet Max facilities are available. A unique feature is the player avatars. Statistics are not provided but they are not important in slot games.

The graphics are good. The animation in the symbols and in the bonus game on the second screen is excellent. The animation of the Tony Stark symbol stands out because it tells a story of its own. The music and audio could have been better.

Theme and Concept (10)

Marvel Comics superheroes are very popular and therefore Iron Man is a well chosen theme. However its conception and execution is superb. The symbols on the reels piece together the story of Iron Man and players who are familiar with Iron Man stories will no doubt have a sentimental fondness for the symbols. The bonus game on the second screen fits into the Iron Man theme perfectly.

Game Features (8)

Iron Man has both wild and scatter symbols. The wild symbol could have been used more imaginatively, perhaps as a stacked or expanding symbol. It does not even act as a multiplier. The scatter symbol is used in the standard manner. Though the bonus game is thematically suitable it is a simple pick X out of Y game without any special features. There is no free spins round and that is sorely missed.

Betting Options (10)

Only two of the betting options, the number of paylines and the coin denomination, are in the player’s control. The number of coins per line has been fixed at one coin per line by the game. This results in a perceived drawback but really is not because the coin denomination range is wide spread. In terms of credits the minimum bet per spin is 0.01 and the maximum is 125.00.
