Craps is a game of chance. There is no way around this. You may be looking for a strategy that will win a hundred percent of the time, but it doesn't exist. What does exist in the world of gambling is mathematics, most particularly probability. In this Craps probability article we are going to outline a few things for you in the hopes it will help you determine how you will play. The first thing you should know is Craps uses two dice. There are also about 8 ways to bet in Craps. These bets will vary on the rules meaning you can't always place certain bets. There are also the odds bets in which you bet with a lower house edge on the odds of getting certain outcomes rather than on a specific bet. The odds replace the pass or come bets in the game. We have looked at a table, which will be posted below.

This table is going to show you the occurrence of certain outcomes. For example if you want to get a sum of two what are the combinations you could get.

Let's look at the combination of 2. Note there is only one way you can get the sum of two. However, continue to look at the table to see how many times you can earn a 4. There are two ways you could have an outcome of getting the four as the sum. You have the 3 and 1 or the 2 and 2. We have looked also at the occurrence for the numbers to appear on the dice. In other words for occurrences of getting a 1 there are 6 possibilities. In fact for all of the dice numbers there will be 6 possibilities. The sum section will show you the total you could get for the occurrence of certain dice. For example look to the right of the table where it says 8 in the sum column.

In this it is telling you the last sum is going to be 8 in which you get a 2 and 6. There are 5 occurrences for you to get the 8. Start at the 2 and 6; then work your way to the left. On the next line you will see the 3 and 5, then the 4 and 4. This will continue until the last row in which you see the 6 and 2 combination. Knowing the outcomes of the dice can help you understand the probability of getting that total. If you have a chance of getting 5 combinations on the two dice that yield 8, you have more of a chance on betting that number than the 2 possibilities for the four.
