Bonus Cards is a casino game listed under Specialty Games in Bodog Casino. It is a Flash game that can be played directly from the games menu from the home page of the Bodog Casino web site. It can be played for real money and in the practice mode.
When the Bonus Cards game opens a central card is displayed face up and eight cards are displayed face down. The Bodog Casino player has to click on each of these eight cards in turn and expose them. He can select the cards in any order he wants. But before he turns a card over the player has to place one of the wagers of the Bonus Cards game. The expected payout is then displayed on the screen. The color, suit or rank of the exposed card will determine whether or not the player has won the bet. If the player loses any bet then he loses the entire staked amount and the game ends even if there are some face down cards remaining on the table.
If the player wins a bet then there are two options available to him. The Bodog Casino player can cash out the winnings and end the game. Or he can stake his balance in the next bet. If the player wins the first four bets his balance is enhanced by 10% and if he also wins the next four bets his balance is enhanced by 20%. At the end of eight consecutive wins the player's balance is automatically cashed out and the game ends.
There are three different types of bets in Bodog Casino Bonus Cards. One is Red or Black. If the player bets on Red then he wins if the next card is red, otherwise he loses. Similarly, if the player bets on Black then he wins if the next card is black, otherwise he loses. In this bet for every $1 wagered the player will win $0.94 and increase his balance to $1.94. The mathematically correct winning is $1 and hence this bet has a house edge of 6%.
The second bet is Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Clubs. If the player bets on Hearts then he wins if the next card is a heart, otherwise he loses. The bet works in a similar way for other suits. In this bet for every $1 wagered the player will win $2.63 and increase his balance to $3.63. The mathematically correct winning is $3 and hence this bet has a house edge of 9%. Therefore the suit bet is not attractive.
The most interesting and the safest bet is Hi and Lo. If the player bets on Hi then he wins if the next card is higher ranked, otherwise he loses. Similarly, if the player bets on Lo then he wins if the next card is lower ranked, otherwise he loses. The Ace is lowest ranked and getting a pair results in a loss. In this bet the payouts depend on the last card exposed and the bet chosen. If the last card is very high ranked or low ranked then the player has a low payout but relatively safe option.
