Wagers in many online casino games tend to be repetitive and without any intermediate decision making by the player. Online slots are a perfect example of this. So that the player need not have to manually start spinning the reels every time, online gaming software providers incorporate an Auto Play feature in the slot games. Vegas Technology is a leading software provider to the online gaming industry and offers one of the best Auto Play features in slot games.
The Auto Play button is prominently displayed below the reels. Clicking this button opens the Auto Play settings box. This box has two sections. The Spin Settings is on the top and the Stop Settings below that. The first item in the Spin Settings is the Number of spins. In Vegas Technology software the number of spins has to be selected from a drop down list. The options available are 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500. This is perhaps the only disadvantage in the Vegas Technology Auto Play, because some other leading software providers allow players to feed in an exact number. In Vegas Technology slot games if a player wants 400 auto spins he has to either choose 250 to start with or settle for 500.
The second parameter in the Spin Settings is Number of seconds between spins. This again is selected from a drop down list with values ranging from 0.25 seconds to 2.00 seconds. This enables players to control the speed of the slot game. For example players participating in online tournaments would choose 0.25 seconds so that they are not strapped for time. Once the selected time elapses the animations and win displays are abruptly cut off and the next spin commences. This can be a bit disconcerting for new players who like to see how the payouts have been awarded. Such players can check the box "Wait until all wins are shown". In this case if there are no wins then the next spin starts after the selected time has elapsed. If there are wins then the spin is on hold till the wins are displayed and restart only after that.
The Stop Settings allow greater control on the auto spins by allowing players to terminate them when certain conditions are met. This becomes important for players who start the slot game and then move away from the computer to do other work and hence they are not aware of what is happening in the game. On top are four conditions of which players can select only one. The default option is "Stop once all spins are complete". However the player can stop the auto play when a jackpot is won or when a win exceeds or equals a specified amount or even on any win. There are two additional conditions that can be independently and simultaneously imposed. These stop the auto spins if the cumulative credits increase or decrease by a specified amount. They are voluntary conditions but very important. For example if a player has a target in mind and he achieves that target before the selected number of spins are over he may not want to continue and risk losing whatever he has won.
Some of the other leading software providers now offer roulette and blackjack games with Auto Play, but Vegas Technology as yet does not do so. It is lagging in this respect.
