An Evolution of WagerWorks Software

Silicon Gaming was a market leader in the slot machine industry reputed for its highly innovative games and robust system hardware. WagerWorks was established as a subsidiary of Silicon Gaming in order to focus on the software. However soon after this, in August 2005, the world's biggest slot machine manufacturer International Game Technology (IGT) acquired Silicon Gaming, including its subsidiaries, proprietary technologies and game libraries.

IGT operated WagerWorks as an independent entity to develop and supply software to the online gaming industry. It was managed by key members from the Silicon Gaming team who had joined IGT. Also from Silicon Gaming was a design team of graphic artists, computer animators, producers, Flash game gurus and math modelers. Thus Silicon Gaming's accumulated experience in casino operations, loyalty marketing, game development and regulatory compliance was transferred to WagerWorks.

WagerWorks also benefited from IGT's content and intellectual property portfolio, extensive business partnerships and experienced management team. It began by converting IGT's immensely popular and instantly recognizable collection of land based slot games for the online casino market. Among the leading online gaming software providers WagerWorks is the only one rooted in traditional land based casinos and this has provided it with considerable competitive advantage.

WagerWorks offers the complete range of online casino games including progressive jackpot games, online slots, table games, video poker and fixed odds games. These are offered through different solution models. Gaming operators can choose the solution that suits them the best. WagerWorks hosts the WagerWare casino platform. This is a reliable and robust iGaming system that includes the complete suite of WagerWorks online casino games. It also includes facilities for registration, verification, banking systems, casino management tools, payment processing, reporting and regulatory compliance protocol. WagerWorks also offers an end-to-end fully-managed casino package, which allows the online gaming operator to delegate all or part of the management and regulatory operations of the casino to WagerWorks. This solution is quick to go on stream and allows the operator to focus on building brand awareness, player acquisition and player retention.

Currently the most popular solution from WagerWorks is its remote game server or rgs. This allows existing operators on other software platforms to add WagerWorks games to their portfolio without investing in the WagerWorks platform through a one time integration process. It enables operators to enhance the value they offer to their customers at minimum cost. WagerWorks describes the benefits of its rgs as follows: "For the first time games from alternative providers will be able to compete on an equal footing, on the same operator's website, utilising the same infrastructure, and the same marketing programmes. An operator can simply pick and choose from the largest library of proven and popular online casino game titles to instantly optimise their games mix and maximise revenue."

WagerWorks also offers the best IGT and Barcrest gaming brands on mobile phones. Mobile gaming operators can offer tournament play, play for cash and pay to download gaming models.

Today the WagerWorks client list is very impressive. Some of the biggest WagerWorks customers are 888, Betfair, Bet365, Gala, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Party Gaming and Virgin Casino.

Their software consist of great branded games but the reality is that their online casino games are really second tier quality in comparison to the land based online casino games that are developed by IGT.
