A new online casino game other than a video slot is so rare that it always draws interest. Heads Up Hold’em from Playtech has just gone live at Omni Casino. The announcement was made in the latest issue of The Omni Times. The online casino newsletter has this to say, “NO poker face required! It's just you, your skill and the dealer – Head's up! Best hand wins!” Heads Up Hold’em broadly follows the concept of online casino poker games where the player has to beat the dealer by drawing a higher ranking hand. But a couple of fun bets have been added. You can play Heads Up Hold’em at the Omni Casino desktop and mobile gaming platforms.

Heads Up Hold’em is played with a single standard deck. You start by placing equal Ante and Odds bets. Two cards are dealt to you on the basis of which you can check or make a Play bet equal to three times the Ante bet. Three community cards are then dealt. If you had previously checked, then you may make a Play bet equal to two times the Ante or check again. If you already made the Play bet, then you cannot bet further. Two final community cards are then dealt. If you had previously checked twice, then you must either make a Play bet equal to the Ante or fold. If you fold then you lose both the Ante and Odds bets. If you had already made the Play bet then you cannot bet further.

The best possible poker hands are automatically made for the player and dealer using any combination of their own two cards and the five community cards. The hands are compared using the standard poker hand rankings. The dealer needs at least a pair to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify then the Ante bet pushes. If the dealer qualifies then a winning Ante bet pays even money. A winning Play bet pays even money irrespective. The Odds bet pays out according to a payout table based on the player hand and who is the winner.

There are three optional side bets. The Bad Beat bet allows you to win up to 500x the bet if you lose with a straight or higher. The Triple Plus bet has payouts topping 100x if a you get three-of-a-kind hand or better. The Pocket Bonus bet pays up to 30x for two starting cards that form a pair, ace and face or pocket aces.
