Do online casino progressive payout more often and frequently then land based casinos and if so why would that be? The reason I ask is just because I've been seeing more and more news about online casino progressives that have been hitting and the mount of news on this subject seems to be populating online casino news sources quite a bit including several news pieces that I've read here on Casino Advisor in regards to these wins.

My assumption is just that it's because land based casinos don't publicize this information as much online but people are still winning these progressive offline as well. Would you guys say that this is a fair assumption?

I would say that networked progressive games that you'd typically find in land based casinos are likely to hit more often then that of those that hit in online casinos. Only because of the sheer volume of play in my opinion in land based casinos exceeds that of the play that you'd find takes place on similar type games in online casinos. I could very well be wrong but it would be my assumption. At the same time though online casinos do get quite a lot of play and through put as they are international (without borders) and are open 24/7 365 days per year.

So yeah I think that land based casino hits on progressives are quite common even for some of their bigger jackpots but just like the larger (Mega Moolah) size jackpots they take time to grow to the multi-million dollar mark.

I'm in agreement with Phizzle and also thing that your first thought Ray was correct in that online casinos don't have the same kind of presence online hence they're not publicizing this information as much as online casinos whose presence is only based on the internet.

I think that land based casinos have as many progressive hits as online casinos if not more but you're just not seeing or hearing about it as there's no where on the net that this information is published. Although I know that some of the Asian casinos (ie. in Korea and Macau, etc...) do have some fairly elaborate websites that provide this information about progressive winners.

I just read the article here on Casino Advisor with regards to the player hitting the win on Millionaires Club progressive at a Cryptologic powered online casino. I think that we're starting to see more and more wins with progressives online. I think that the volume of players that contribute to play in progressives is definitely bigger at land based casinos for individual progressives that are non networked but progressives that are networked like this can be won far more often as many online casinos support them. I think that I'd be of the opinion that online casinos produce a lot more progressive wins then land based casinos but that's just my though on it.
