Dispute resolution for US online casino players?
Hey everyone,
I'm really new here both to online casino advisor as well as the forum on the site. Being a player from the US I've found that there really isn't any good approach to managing disputes as they arise when playing at online casinos. I know that for non-US players that eCOGRA is an effective tool that can be used in order to make claim of issues so long as the casinos are credited and approved by eCOGRA. For us players from the United States it doesn't really seem as though there's anything quite comparable to this and I just wanted to know if anyone has any advice on what to do and or where to go if a dispute or issue with any of the online casinos that I'm currently playing at does arise?
Thanks very much for your help and guidance here!
John

Re: Dispute resolution for US online casino players?
I think that most people from the USA would love the idea of having an online casino dispute resolution firm such eCOGRA in place unfortunately there isn't really something as extensive that can be used to address and help you deal with such issues. I personally think that sites such as casino advisor that promote online casinos should really be more involved in the resolution of disputes from players that visit the casinos they refer them to from their site but this isn't really the case. I think that most people would suggest and recommend to you that you contact and get in touch with casinomeister who may very well be able to lend advise and offer input on how to get things sorted. I think that also if he's not too busy he may take it upon himself even to contact the casino and try to sort the issue out for you. Also posting on his message board or the message board at one of the other prominent casino websites about your issue (ie. here on casinoadvisor or on winneronline) would also be a good approach for you.
Anyways don't think that this was really the answer you were looking for but I really don't think there's anything like what you're looking for currently out there.
Best of luck to you... Andy Black.

Good post and a topic that I've seen discussed here in the past. Yeah it's a shame that we don't have something that's more catered towards American players like eCOGRA. Definitely if there's regulation something will come about!

eCOGRA is great... I really feel sorry for all of you American players out there who cannot leverage on knowing that you can play safely at eCOGRA certified online casinos. I hope that something comes about soon for everyone in the US that would be similar in nature.

I'm of the opinion that something will come about for player protection once things are more in order with the state of gaming online globally. This could still take some time but it's inevitable. Whether it be a proper gaming commission like the Nevada gaming commission or another authoritative body it's really just a matter of time in my opinion.
