Post What's the thought on the new Barney Frank bill?
Just wanted to get a consensus on from people here on Casino Advisor with regards to what the general though is on the new bill proposed by Senator Barney Frank in attempts to legalize online gambling within the United States. I'm not exactly sure what the status is of this bill and would like some additional information if anyone knows.

hey phiz... well I don't think that anything has actually passed into law as of yet, however I do think that there is an immense amount of hope now for the industry to prosper indefinitely in the United States.

I also found this on Reuters which may shed some light on where things stand:

It's believed that this bill will set the way for the future of online gambling within the United States.

It's interesting actually because Harrah's which I beleive was initially lobbying for the prohibition of online gambling has now had a change of heart ans is lobbying for the regulation of online gambling.

An article on this subject can be found here:

Hey there... thanks for the tips on the two articles. I have some interest in this subject and found the article on the GPWA website rather handy and informative!

Should this progress to a full on regulation it will be very interesting to see Harrah's and other major gaming providers operating online. You can only imagine what the gaming experience is like. Additionally there's no doubt that they'll be doing things like integrate player loyalty rewards online and offline so that you can use your loyalty rewards that you accumulate to collect comps while in and a land based establishment... will be very exciting. Will be interesting to see what happens with all this should regulation take place in the next few years. If anything does happen I doubt it will happen very fast... likely at least a few years before we'd start seeing any of the big gaming groups coming out with an online presence.

Lol... yeah that's really funny. No need to wait for these to come out you can make your own. I found this site a while back when looking to make some of my own bumper stickers... http://www.makestickers.com/ It's a pretty cool concept.

The banks in Britain aren't too happy about gambling and often decline transactions but luckily they haven't illegalized it...yet.

I think it's kind of irrelevant though that the banks in "Britain" aren't too happy about it as they aren't really involved in the issues pertaining the UIGEA and US online gambling. Sure they have their own issues in the UK and in Europe that they have to deal with though but I think that the two are loosely tied and somewhat unrelated.
