Virtual Racing for US Tribal Land Casinos

Tribal Gaming Network is a private gaming network that links Indian land casinos across the United States and offers wide area progressive, Class III, Class II and online games. It is operated by the Atlantis Internet Group Corp. (ATIG). It has been reported that ATIG has entered into an agreement with the Australian betting company Tabcorp for supply of the simulated racing game Racetrax via the Tribal Gaming Network. An ATIG spokesman said that the multi-million dollar, multi-year license agreement represents the first time Racetrax has been offered in any US State except Maryland.

Racetrax, which has been developed by Tabcorp in-house, is popular throughout the world. The animated game has already been a hit in Denmark, Croatia and Sri Lanka, apart from the Australian states Victoria and New South Wales, where is available through Tabcorp wagering venues. The reason for its popularity is that Racetrax combines the excitement of thoroughbred, harness greyhound and car racing with the simplicity and payout characteristics of number games such as Keno. It offers fixed returns on bet types such as Win, Place, Quinella and Trifecta and gives customers an opportunity to win real money on virtual races.

A spokesman for the Tribal Gaming Network said that Racetrax would go online in the fall of 2011. Players can wager on this game via terminals located at tribal land casinos. These terminals will be linked nationwide in 28 states. Apart from land casinos, Racetrax will also be available at truck stops, smoke shops and cyber cafes on Indian lands across the United States. The virtual racing game will be distributed using the casinos' Intranet and satellite television to all eligible retail locations.

Donald Bailey, President and CEO of ATIG said, "With virtually no federal or state legislation passed to offer nationwide games via the Intranet, the TGN is in a class by itself and with games like Racetrax, ATIG will offer Indian casinos nationwide some of the largest jackpots and exciting entertainment since the creation of Powerball." The chief executive officer for Tabcorp, David Attenborough, added that he was pleased to see the expansion of Racetrax throughout the American Indian gaming market. He said that Racetrax is an innovative and technologically advanced gaming product. He looked forward to delivering high quality virtual racing games to the Indian land casino market through ATIG and the Tribal Gaming Network.

The Tribal Gaming Network already offers other popular gaming products such as TGN Poker, Thunderball Lotto, Quarterback Draw Football, progressive jackpot slots, live dealer online games, tournament games and traditional online casino games. Racetrax will soon join them.
