In January this year Microgaming had announced that it would release a true 3D version of its popular slot game Sterling Silver some time in 2011. It would create genuine three dimensional sensations as in the movies like Avatar and Alice in Wonderland. Whether special viewing devices would be required is not known.

The regular video slot Sterling Silver is unusual in some respects. Sliver is the only color on the reels, though there are different shades of it. The symbols are either silver bars or high value cards symbols crafted in silver. The animations are more flashes of light than anything else. The question does arise as to why Microgaming chose Sterling Silver as its first 3D slot game, when apparently better choices exist. The question will be answered only when the 3D Sterling Silver is released. Unfortunately the blog is as vague about the release of the 3D slot game as was the original announcement.
