Realtime Gaming Top Jackpot Prize Pools

A jackpot pool is the collective value of all the progressive jackpot games of an online gaming software developer. After the big hits over the last few months the pecking order of the jackpot pools of the more popular software developer has changed. Microgaming, which had led the charge for most of the year, is languishing in fourth place, whereas Realtime Gaming (RTG) has emerged the clear leader.

The RTG jackpot pool stands at almost $5.5 million, little less than double of its nearest competitor. Two thirds of the pool is contributed to by three popular progressive jackpot online slots. They are Jackpot Pinatas, Aztec's Millions and Shopping Spree. None of these three have been hit in the last year and all have struggled hard to reach their current levels. Nothing can be said with certainty in the realm of online slots, but these jackpots appear ripe to be hit. Even if one of the jackpots is hit in the near future RTG will not lose its top spot.

Despite a more than two million dollar hit in Gold Rally, the Playtech jackpot pool retains its second spot, though by a slender margin. The Playtech jackpot pool currently stands at almost $3 million. The leaders are Beach Life and Megaball. Beach Life is one of the more popular progressive jackpot online slots in the industry, having been hit five times in the last 365 days at an average of $1.9 million.

Vegas Technology and Microgaming are neck to neck at about $2.5 million, with Vegas Technology just ahead by $2,000 at the time of writing. Microgaming jackpots grow much faster and it is a matter of a day or two before Microgaming overtakes Vegas Technology. Vegas Technology is riding on the back of its flagship slot Red, White & Win, which is at just under a million dollars. Because wagers with one and two coins pay 5% and 10% of the jackpot amount, the growth in this progressive jackpot online slot is slow.

Microgaming lost its number one position when Mega Moolah was hit for over $6 million three months ago. Since then Microgaming has given other big hits including another one in Mega Moolah. But Microgaming progressive jackpots are the most popular in the industry and it should not be long before they reach the number two spot.

Cryptologic is in fifth place with its jackpot pool at just over a million dollars. Its flagship jackpot, Millionaires Club, hit for more than $1.5 million earlier this month. Though Cryptologic offers several other progressive jackpots, including the popular Marvel slots, these are the rapid fire type. They hit frequently, some of them several times a day, and never reach big amounts.

It's good to see someone else take the first place with respect to progressives. Microgaming was always the leader with regards to the size and number of progressives they carried within the casinos that were powered by their software. I suppose that they may still have the most number of progressive games but it's becoming clear that without the US market to grow their progressives they're lagging a bit behind some of the other providers that have really taken US market share.
