Before starting the game players will have to choose the coin denomination by operating the arrows next to the BET button. Coin denominations are 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00 and 5.00. Player will also have to enable up to twenty-five paylines by operating the arrows next to the LINES button. Winning combinations pay only if they occur in enabled paylines. In T-Rex players are constrained to wager one coin per line by default. Once the settings have been completed the game can be started by clicking the SPIN button.
The T-Rex is the wild symbol and it appears only on reel 3. It doubles the payouts if it substitutes in a winning combination. However in the feature game it can appear on any reel by replacing the other dinosaurs there. If five T-Rex symbols thus appear in an enabled payline the payout is 10000 coins.
The Egg is the scatter symbol. Two, four and five scatter symbols anywhere on the reels result in a scatter payout, which is multiplied by the total bet. Five scatter symbols have a payout of 200 coins. Three or more scatter symbols also activate the free spins feature game. The player has to select three Egg symbols, which reveal the number of free spins. Requisite number of scatters appearing during free spins re-trigger further free spins.
T-Rex has a progressive jackpot that is hit randomly. The highest fixed jackpot in normal spins is of 5000 coins when five Stegosaurus symbols appear in an enabled payline. The second highest fixed jackpot is 2500 coins for the Triceratops symbol. The payout table can be accessed by clicking the HELP button.
T-Rex recreates the Jurassic era not only through the symbols and animations but also through the background of dense foliage and distant volcanoes.
