Playtech is a leading developer and licensor of software for the online, mobile, TV and land-based gaming industry. As the European market is becoming more and more regulated Playtech is establishing itself more firmly in that market. Now from its headquarters in London Playtech has announced yet another tie up that will make its position stronger in the Italian market. The tie up is with the Italian operator Buongiorno.

Buongiorno is a leading global mobile entertainment company. It provides a wide range of mobile content to more than 300 million users in 57 countries around the world. Buongiorno owns the Winga brand, through which it offers online poker and bingo products in the regulated Italian market. Fully compliant with the Italian regulations set out by AAMS, Winga is already popular with online players in Italy.

As of now the regulations in Italy do not allow operators to offer online casino services. However, as per present plans, the licensing and regulation of online casino gaming is expected to go on stream early in 2011. This is where the agreement between Playtech and Buongiorno will come in. Playtech will offer through Winga its complete online casino product. The press advisory released by Playtech says, "A range of innovative products and services, including mobile games, will set Winga's offering apart, and bring unique new ways of playing to the Italian market." Playtech's casino product is known for its unique arcade games and Marvel Movies branded super hero online slots.

Buongiorno's Chief Executive, Andrea Casalini, explained how this tie up will help them. He said that after the new regulations are in place Winga will develop across two directions. He said, "Firstly, via the expansion on our existing gaming offering, to include lotteries, casino games and more; this is where our casino agreement with Playtech will play a key part, enabling this exciting expansion to happen." Casalini added that the second direction for Winga is mobile gaming where it will leverage Buongiorno's ten years of experience in this sector.

Playtech's Chief Executive, Mor Weizer, acknowledged that this agreement was a significant step forward for them in Italy. He said that Playtech was very excited to partner with Buongiorno for offering its Italian players market leading casino content. Weizer said, "Given Buongiorno's historic mobile expertise, it is also an excellent opportunity to implement some unique technologies for the Italian market, as Playtech's cross-platform capability fits very well with Buongiorno's business model." Earlier this year Playtech had provided its online casino products to Finland's state owned gaming operator RAY.
