Pros: Really nice theme and concept with great bonus rounds.

Of the new Microgaming online casino games that have been released in the past few months I was compelled to write a review on the Scrooge online casino video slot game they introduced this month. Although they're cutting it close as Christmas draws nearer they still managed to related this game into their library of online casino games just in time for the holidays! The scrooge video slot game is more innovative then most of the other games that have been released lately which is why I think it deserves a write up.
As a Christmas themed game this one in particular caters to the "Christmas Carol" type theme. Microgaming is known for already having many x-mas themed games so this is a nice addition for those people out there who are specifically looking to indulge in games that are based around the holiday season. Graphically the games is really good there's only one or two symbols within the game that I wasn't overly impressed with but in general they're all decent as is the animation for the symbols that do animate within the game. A nice touch which is something I've found that Microgaming is starting to do more of in their games is the fact that they have subtle animations that play in the background which add to the overall ambiance and theme of the game in particular with this game where they have snow falling in the background. In terms of audio (sound loops) and sound FX this game doesn't do anything new or push any boundaries in terms of audio but none the less it's still very good!
Now for the good stuff in terms of features in this game I really like what they've done which I beleive to be quite innovative as I've never seen a game concept like this applied online. Whenever you hit any line win combo (there's 50 paylines in this game so you do get lots of winning combos quite regularly) you get to click on one of the symbols or allow it to select one automatically which will in turn reveal either an additional day on the countdown to x-mas or 1+ free spin. Once you get up to 25 days of Christmas you'll trigger the free spin in which all the free spins you've accumulated with the 1+ free spins will be what you get in terms of number of free spins in the game. Another nice thing is that the free spins wins that you accumulate during free sins are doubled.
Further to this great free spins bonus they also offer another bonus called the xmas dinner bonus where you can up to a 20x multiplier on the scatter combo that get's you into the bonus round making for a win of up to 10,000 coins.
Scrooge is a solid online casino video slot and one that I think that any avid Microgaming player would really like to try playing.
