Jacks Or Better Gets Updated

A new variant in online video poker was long overdue. A staleness had crept into the games. Tampering with the payouts would not have done the trick. Freshness in the playing mechanism was required. Microgaming has responded by coming out with Jacks or Better Level Up Poker. This variant offers four hands but not in the multi play format. The hands are played one at a time. Players have to win the earlier hand to play the next one. The payoff is that the multiplier doubles the prizes with each level.

Microgaming has chosen Jacks or Better for the new format and rightly so. Jacks or Better is the most popular variant of online video poker. And since it does not have any extras of its own, players can focus on the changes now made.

The player's total wager will be four times the line wager. In the first level if the player gets a lower ranking hand than a pair of jacks the game ends there. If he gets at least jacks or better then two things happen. He gets paid as per the payout table based on his line wager and he gets to play the second level. In the second level fresh cards are dealt from a new deck. Here if the player gets a lower ranking hand than a pair of jacks the game ends. If the player gets at least jacks or better then he gets paid at 2X the payout table based on his line wager and he gets to play the third level. In the third level if the player gets at least jacks or better then he gets paid at 4X the payout table based on his line wager and moves to the fourth level. At the fourth level the payout is 8X the payout table based on the line wager. This is the basic mechanics of Level Up Poker. If a player wagers $1 per line, which is $4 in all and draws jacks or better in each of the four levels the player will end up winning $15. Four jacks or better wins in the normal game would fetch only $4. However there is a flip side. In Level Up Poker the player loses $4 if he fails to get through the first level without playing the other three. In the normal game his loss would be only $1.

There are two other features in Jacks or Better Level Up Poker. The game has Free Ride Cards that allow the player to move to the next level even if he fails to qualify. The option of collecting or doubling the winnings that is available in most online video poker games is also available in Jacks or Better Level Up Poker.

Jacks or Better Level Up Poker can be played at All Jackpots Casino, All Slots Casino and Wild Jack Casino.

I agree that the advent of Jacks or Better as a variant of online poker is long overdue.
