It is one of the most significant land casino deals in Europe in recent times. IGT, the market leader in land casino gaming machines and systems, has announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Holland Casino. The LOI was signed by the CEOs of IGT and Holland Casino during the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. The assignment involves the development and implementation of Holland Casino's new MOSAIC project.
"The MOSAIC project involves the modernization of systems and integration of Holland Casino's casino management tools across all of its properties in the Netherlands using IGT's Systems solutions," read the press release from IGT. IGT will provide Holland Casino with an integrated membership and loyalty system that will allow the latter's customers to enjoy fast, reliable rewards and coinless gambling. IGT will also optimize operational processes and provide exceptional customer service. At the same time IGT will ensure that responsible gaming practices are incorporated throughout the entire solution. This is important for Holland Casino because it is a world leader in responsible gaming, having won the international award for 'Socially Responsible Casino Operator of the Year' in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Holland Casino has fourteen properties with an annual customer visit tally of over 5.5 million. Several executives of Holland Casino spoke about this landmark deal with IGT. Dick Flink, Holland Casino CEO, said, "Holland Casino wants to provide a superior guest experience now and in the future. To achieve this you need more than just a good working system; you need a strategic partner to co-create those delightful moments." Robin Middendorp, vice president of operations support for Holland Casino, pointed out that it was important to use the latest technology in day-to-day operations to provide an efficient and stable system. For this, a reliable partner for support and future developments was needed, and they found one in IGT.
Executives from IGT also elucidated on this deal. Patti Hart, IGT CEO said that IGT was incredibly proud to work with Holland Casino on the MOSAIC project. That IGT was selected by Holland Casino is a testament to IGT's unwavering customer commitment. Once implemented, the IGT system would provide a cutting-edge player experience. Sabby Gill, IGT regional vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, pointed out that their casino management solution will help Holland Casino to increase customer loyalty and provide unparalleled flexibility in their casino operations.
One of the latent benefits of this deal could be in the field of online gambling. The new government in the Netherlands has made it clear that it wants to legalize and regulate online gambling. It has not yet found the required support from its Parliament. But legalization is bound to happen sooner or later. IGT's success at Holland Casino could give its gaming software wing WagerWorks a position of advantage when that happens.
