Cryptologic Signs Up With Paramount

Before 2009 is over Cryptologic online casinos, such as InterCasino and VIP Casino, will be having slot games based on characters from the best of the Paramount movies. This is pursuant to the multi year agreement between Cryptologic and Paramount Digital Entertainment. Some of the details of the agreement were announced by Cryptologic through a press release from Dublin on the 17th of March.

As per the terms of the agreement the leading online gaming software provider Cryptologic has the exclusive rights to develop and offer online slot games based on more than 20 Paramount Pictures’ movies including all time greats such as Braveheart, Forrest Gump, Beowulf, Beverly Hills Cop, Ferris Bueller and Ghost. This would enable Cryptologic to create a portal dedicated to movie based online slot games. There are already some movie based slots in Cryptologic’s current suite. Prominent is the Movie Mayhem series consisting of four slot games that portray different genres of movies. Fantasy Realm represents mystic movies with Elf Queens, Dragons and Warriors. Outta Space is a reflection of the popular science fiction genre. Silent Screen takes players back to the 1920s with a tribute to Charlie Chaplin as well. And Sunday Afternoon Classics reminds players of all time greats like Gone with the Wind.

Both Cryptologic and Paramount Digital Entertainment are satisfied with the deal. Brian Hadfield, CryptoLogic’s president and CEO, described the deal as between leaders in their respective fields. He said, "Paramount Pictures boasts an extensive catalogue of classic and new releases, and Cryptologic makes the world’s best branded Internet casino games." He also added that it has been proven that branded games drive online casino revenue and this deal will put Cryptologic in an unassailable position in that arena. Luke Letizia, Vice President Interactive Licensing Paramount Digital Entertainment, stated that the online gaming industry is a suitable new platform for the Paramount brand. He was confident that the Cryptologic games will be on par with the quality and caliber of Paramount Pictures properties.

Recently Cryptologic suffered a setback when it lost its exclusive standing with Marvel Comics. Marvel Comics entered into an agreement with Cryptologic’s competitor, Playtech, allowing them to produce online slot games based on Marvel Comics super heroes. However that is obviously not bothering Cryptologic. In an industry where new games are sought every month Cryptologic is rightly looking forward. Though Cryptologic is not an undisputed leader in the field of general video slots it can still hold its own. Four new online slot games have been announced for release on the 26th of March. These are Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Samba Nights, Penguins in Paradise and Reel in the Cash.
